June 22, 2020Limit switches are used when precise drop-off locations are required on the customer’s end. They cause the tooling / end-effector to stop at a predetermined height chosen by the customer. RonI’s production team installs each limit switch before the equipment is shipped to the customer but their height can always be modified after the lifter leaves our facility. Typically a lifter that includes a limit switch will only contain 1 set. The project highlighted in this blog contains 8 of them! Now THESE are Limit Switch Friendly Forks!!
The lifter below was designed to handle sheet metal chassis at the customer’s facility. Our team decided to proceed with forks for the end-effector since the chassis each have two openings in the front for the forks to lift the unit to the different drop off heights.
These particular chassis are 34″ to 39″ long, 17″ wide by 10″ high, and weigh 75 – 125 lbs. The chassis need to be lifted 75.5″ off the ground, and the lifter needs to straddle a 23.6″ wide rack on the ground.

All of our equipment is application specific so we can ensure everything that leaves our facility will work as intended and be structurally sound. We would love to hear what some of your current lifting challenges are. Send an email to Info@RonI.com or call 866-543-8635.
