Choosing the Right Material Handling Equipment for Your Workspace
May 22, 2024The Ergonomic Lifter: Warehouse Edition
June 20, 2024What happens in those instances where you aren’t sure how to reach a certain pour location? This is where RonI comes into play!! We thrive on unique and custom projects.
In the example below, we suggested a 19500S unit with Squeeze-O-Turn tooling. The customer needed the lifter to have short legs in order to get as close to the drop-off pour location as possible, so we had to put counterweights on the back of the lifter to stabilize the weight.
Plastic Drum Product Specs:
- 22″ diameter
- 36″ height
The maximum weight for this particular drum is 250 lbs and the dump height is 60″ from the floor.
Regarding this project, when the operator is in need of product (plastic drums), they take the lifter and manually push it to the storage rack of product located in the staging queue. The operator would position the lifter, while lowering the Squeeze-O-Turn, so it is directly over the next available product.
The Squeeze-O-Turn arms would be lowered until they are around the product with the fixed arm aligned touching the product. The operator would then guide the arms to squeeze the product until it is fully gripped. The operator would then raise the tooling to clear the product from the staging area.
With the arms securing the plastic drum the operator would wheel the lifter to the dump/pour position. Here the operator would drive the container up and push the lifter forward over the dump position. Once elevated and in position the operator would depress the rotate button and rotate the container to dump the contents. The drum can be rotated to different angles during the dump cycle.
Once complete, the operator would drive the drum to an upright position, pull the lifter back and wheel the lifter back to the empty drum area. Here the empty container would be lowered onto a dolly, floor or pallet. Once complete, the operator would pull the lifter back and wheel it to the staging queue for the next load.
