July 6, 2023Optimizing Warehouse Efficiency with Ergonomic Lifters
September 18, 2023Do you have a roll needing to be picked up core horizontal and deposited onto a machine spindle in that same orientation? Most of the time the customer can manually guide the roll onto the machine spindle during the push-off process. In the event the machine spindle is hard to access, we can incorporate an automatic pusher to offload the roll.
In the example below, we suggested a 19000 unit with our Core Probe tooling. The end-effector would be used to pick up the roll by the core and deposit the roll onto the desired machine spindle. We also incorporated a male and female mating cone to ensure the core probe is locked onto the machine spindle before offloading.
Roll Sizes:
- 23″ – 25″ diameter
- 710″ – 11″ wide
- 150 lbs maximum weight
Regarding this project, when the operator is in need of product, they take the lifter and manually push it to the storage rack of product located in the staging queue. The operator would position the lifter, while lowering the Core Probe to align with a roll core.
Once aligned, the operator would push the lifter forward into the roll core. The operator would then drive the lift up and pull the lifter back. The loaded lifter would then be wheeled to the machine spindle. Here the operator would raise the roll over the spindle height and adjust the lifter to alignment. With the roll aligned above the spindle the operator would drive the lift down until the mating cone set has engaged the lifter and the spindle. The operator would then lock the brake on the lifter. With the probe engaged and the brake locked, the operator would actuate the pusher. The pusher would push the roll onto the spindle. Once the roll is on the spindle the operator would raise the lift, uncoupling from the cone set. The operator would release the brake, pull the lifter away, and wheel it to the staging queue for the next load.
