Pneumatic Expand-O-Turn with Unique Legs

What exactly is a Pneumatic Expand-O-Turn with Unique Lifter Legs? This lifter is provided with our Expand-O-Turn tooling for picking up rolls with their core vertical and rotating them so that the cores are horizontal for ultimate insertion of the roll to the customers’ machine. The Expand-O-Turn is elevated to our Pneumatic model due to the weight of the customers’ rolls. We then incorporated our v-shaped lifter legs so the lifter could straddle the corners of the customer’s wooden pallet in order to reach their product. This is offered as a solution when one of our aluminum pallets are not utilized.

Starting roll sizes were as follows:

Diameter: 20″ Width: 23″ – 28″ Weight: 200 lbs max

In this example, for the Pneumatic Expand-O-Turn with Unique Lifter Legs, the centerline of spindle drop off height to floor was not to exceed 65”.

The operator, when in need of a roll, obtains a lifter and manually directs it to a pallet of rolls located in the staging queue. Shipper pallets are encouraged to be placed onto an aluminum workstation pallet to allow for lifter leg access.
