January 26, 2023The Importance of Ergonomic Lifting
March 24, 2023What is Bridge Crane Container Handling? Do you need ergonomic assistance but don’t have enough floor space in the desired location? In these cases, our tooling options can be mounted on rails that run close to your ceiling.
In the example below, we opted for a Bridge Crane Container Handling solution. We recommended our MechLift unit on a freestanding bridge crane to handle waste plastic containers. The MechLift unit was gripped with our Squeeze-O-Turn arms. We supplied a 14′ x 35′ free standing bridge crane with a manual push. The waste plastic containers were gripped and rotated with a powered movement for dumping.
Waste Container Specs:
- #1 = 50″ long x 30″ wide x 50″ tall [400 lbs].
- #2 = 31″ square x 39″ tall x 30″ to handle [400 lbs].
- #3 = 32.5″ long x 22.75″ wide x 40″ tall [200 lbs].
Regarding this project, when the operator is in need of product, they take the MechLift handle bars and manually push it to the storage rack of product located in the staging queue. The operator would position the MechLift, while lowering the Squeeze-O-Turn tooling with the remote control, so it is directly over the next available plastic waste container.
The Squeeze-O-Turn arms would be lowered until they are around the waste container with the fixed arm aligned touching the container. The operator would then guide the arms to squeeze the container until it is fully gripped. The operator would then raise the tooling to clear the product from the staging area.
At this time, the operator would manually push the product to the dumping station. While pressing the rotate button, the squeeze arms would fully rotate the waste container over the waste hopper until it is fully emptied. The operator would then rotate the squeeze arms to the starting position and push the MechLift to the drop-off location. Once there, the waste container can be lowered onto the staging location.
Once complete, the operator would pull the MechLift back and push it to the staging queue for the next load.
