Spool Push-Off Rail System

What is a Spool Push-Off Rail System? In this application, rolls in the core horizontal position are delivered to the area on either a plastic pallet or a multi-wheeled cart. These rolls are then individually picked up in the core horizontal position and delivered to the machine spindle in the same core horizontal position. An overhead roll delivery system is required along with a powered pusher to push the roll from the crane onto the spindle. In addition to this we have also provided a laser positioning system to visually assist the operator in aligning the equipment and the machined spindles. This alignment will position the roll centered on the machine spindle and at the proper depth to the machine spindle. The operator simply lowers the roll to engage the spindle.

With the above in mind we manufactured the following: An overhead rail system with floor supports, our Lift-N-Glide (LNG) for up/down movement and 360 degree rotation. The LNG utilizes a core probe to pick and carry the rolls and a powered pusher arrangement to transfer the roll, along with a visual positioning system.
