Custom Roll Handling Ergonomics
August 11, 2022RonI offers Specialized Material Handling Lifting Solutions. We support a lot of standard operations but we thrive on the unique and rare request as well. The below project focuses on a customer needing to lift their custom tooling, while fitting under a low ceiling. In this scenario, our team proposed our basic 20500HS lifter model, along with extended forks that were 12″ long and 14.8″ outside to outside. The maximum weight was not to exceed 200lbs. The lift mast in this example was cut (39″ total height) to enable the customer to enter low ceiling clearance areas under their machine.
In this example, when the operator is in need of product, they take the operating hand of the tooling and manually direct it to the storage rack of product located in the staging queue. The operator would position the lifter to straddle the custom tooling and push the lifter forward, securing the extended forks around the custom tooling.
With the forks securing the custom tooling, the operator would wheel the lifter to the offloading position. Here, with the help of the specialized material handling lifting solutions, the operator would drive the tooling up and push the lifter forward to the offloading location.
Once complete, the operator would pull the lifter back and wheel it to the staging queue for the next load.
